SVS New President

Nick Hart was elected as the new President of the Sheep Veterinary Society at their autumn conference held in Dorset at the beginning of September. He takes over from Yoav Alony-Gilboa who becomes Senior Vice-President .He is joined on the Committee by new Junior Vice-President Amanda Carson.

The Sheep Veterinary Society brings together vets, advisers and flock owners from all over the United Kingdom, Europe and the wider world who are interested in the welfare and production of sheep. The Society is a forum for education and discussion on all matters relating to sheep health and welfare. It also builds strong links with sheep farmers through the National Sheep Association. Members of the Society and Committee are actively involved in many different Groups and Schemes helping to forge ideas and policies that will have a direct impact upon the future of the Sheep farming industry.

Nick Hart qualified from the RVC in 1976, spending 35 years in mixed practice. He obtained a Certificate in Sheep Health and Production 25 years ago. Since retiring as senior partner in 2011, Nick has worked part time as appointed OV to Animal Breeding Europe, a specialist Cattle, Sheep and Goat Reproduction Company.
