FREE NSA webinar on CODD webinar

NSA webinar on 'The Challenges of Contagious Ovine Digital Dermatitis (CODD)’

Date: 25th June 2020

Time: 7.30pm

Lameness in sheep is regarded by many as one of the most significant welfare concerns affecting the national flock. Whilst much focus is given to foot rot, contagious ovine digital dermatitis (CODD) has become an increasing cause of lameness in sheep. Join us on 25th June at 7.30pm for a webinar focusing on the issues that CODD presents.

The webinar will feature Liz and Bryan Griffiths, NSA Chairman who will give an overview of their flock and the challenges they have faced with lameness, culminating in their ongoing efforts to tackle CODD.

Following this there will be presentations from Jennifer Duncan, a Senior Lecturer at University of Liverpool and sheep vet, Liz Nabb discussing how to get your vet involved and the potential difficulties in diagnosis. They will consider a holistic approach to lameness of the 5 point plan with emphasis on how it is relevant to CODD along with the responsible use of antibiotics and the importance of quarantine protocols for purchased sheep.
