Scottish Sheep Scab Initiative The Scottish Sheep Scab Initiative was launched at the Kelso Farm Sales on 11 September 2003. It is a response to increasing concerns about the increase in incidence and spread of sheep scab throughout Scotland since the end of compulsory dipping in July 1992. The Initiative is the product of an all-industry group of stakeholders in Scotland brought together by Nigel Miller, Chairman NFU Scotland Livestock Committee. The powerpoint presentation presented below was put together by Brian Hosie, Group Support Manager, SAC Veterinary Services for veterinary surgeons in practice trying to deal with outbreaks of Sheep Scab. The presentation can be used at farmer’s meetings and other similar events to provide farmers and others in the sheep industry with information on the best approach to control and eventual eradication of sheep scab from Scotland.
